Concert Failure | Oh well, It’s Hip Hop Time

2 Mar

As I said in my last blog, I was going to go see a band last night at Samford University that was advertised (quite effectively) to me on Facebook as being like Gungor. But, sadly, I didn’t make it to see Jenny & Tyler!

Instead, I ended up babysitting little Emily, Elaine (perfect children, more like adults) and Robbie (reminds me of myself as a kid, WRASTLIN’) with Sherei at the first day of her new job, eating some chicken, feta and spinach pizza from Dominos (Mmmmm) and watching American Idol with the kids. Personally, my vote’s in  for the Goliath, Jermaine Jones. I’m not sure if it was because I was terrified by his gargantuanness or touched by his deep Luthor Vandross bellowing, but I was almost moved to tears.

Long story short, I couldn’t make it to the show, but still want to feature Jenny & Tyler today! This couple is first and foremost, adorable. Their video could be a scene from The Vow that Sherei and I saw on Valentine’s Day, and believe me, these harmonizing, mandolin & guitar playing, husband and wife best friends will win your heart over just as effectively as Channing Tatum did Rachel McAdams, twice in the movie. Check out their brand new video, and download their last album for FREE at their website!

Too bad I missed that cute couple in concert … oh well, it’s hip hop time!  I am really excited to share with you on this blog a lot of brain-exploding phenomenal christian rappers that not too people many know, but today we are sticking to the mainstream, with a group that includes almost every popular hip hop artist rapping about Jesus today.

I am pleased to present to you: 116 Clique, a band of rappers united around Romans 1:16 – not being ashamed of Jesus! Featuring Lacrae, Trip Lee, Sho Baraka, KB and Tadashii as the more widely known of them, their new album, Man Up, is calling for the masses in hip hop culture to rise up and be real men, challenging them straighten up their backs, start living how God made them to be, and look to Jesus, the most excellent of examples, on how to act.

Get Ready. These guys are killin it!
